wow, I would heavily encourage her to see her oncologist about this...it sounds like it's in an area where lymph nodes are close to the skin, so it could just be an inflammation - or something worse. Considering her history with cervical cancer, she needs to talk to her doc asap. if it were just a swollen lymph node, I would assume that it would have resolved itself by now.

It's possible that the inflamation involves lymph nodes. What I know as a nurse is that the lymph system is one of the most common transportation of cancer cells and knowing that your wife had cervical cancer in the past, it would be a very wise decision to see an Oncologist. But that would be the worse case scenario, it could also be a sign of infection. I hope it's infection.

Yeah, that could be a problem.. It might just be a salivary gland that has something stuck in it... Or it could be a lymph node. If it is a lymph node that has been there since Nov... you need to get her in to check it out asap. As we do physicals there are certain things to look for. A hardened lymph node is a danger sign. That isn't inflammation anymore.. inflammation is a tender, warm, swollen lymph node, not a rock hard one.
If it is in her neck, you are looking towards thyroid nodule, etc...
She needs to go in yesterday. She is probably irritating her laryngeal nerve, one that goes to the vocal cords. Hopefully it is a just benign thyroid that needs to either come out, or be medically managed.
good luck to you both.

Usually a young person its not cancer, however, that's not a 100% rule, especially if she has a Hx of cervical cancer...I would take her to her primary care doctor to get checked out...there are tests I would suggest, but I won't on yahoo answers since I'm not the primary care doctor...but this is something that should be evaluated...

Go to www.GoXanthones.com and listen to the audio links on cancer by Dr. John Edwards. He has been using mangosteen juice as a supplement for his cancer patients with good results.
To obtain mangosteen juice go to www.mangosteendiscovery.com. You can order right from that site. All natural and tastes great!

Please have her see a doctor. It may take several doctors. [it did for me] But, it could be nothing to worry about too. Let a doctor decide. My Lymphoma started as a lump in my throat. It took several specialists [ENT, gastro, surgeon] to figure it out. They were all set to remove my thyroid, and "oh by the way" it's Lymphoma.
I'm not a doctor, don't be scared by what I say. Just go get it checked out.
God bless you.

If she ha s a history of cancer, and there is this unusual throat lump with PAIN...why would you not take her to a doctor instead of guessing...or asking untrained persons online? I think your're not very educated or you don't care about your girlfriend.

I also got a lump there b4, so my advice is to go for X-Ray and take anti-bodies and swelling medication..this is what the doc gave me after the X-Ray..In certain cases, if the lump too big, might need an operation to remove it..
So have her checked now!
