This test only has one question, but it's a very
important one.

By giving an honest answer, you will discover
where you stand morally.

The test features an unlikely, completely
fictional situation in which you will have to make a
decision.

Remember that your answer needs to be honest,
yet spontaneous.

Please scroll down slowly and give due
consideration to each line. --------

You are in Florida, Miami to be specific. There is
chaos all around you caused by a hurricane with
severe flooding.

This is a flood of biblical proportions.

You are a photojournalist working for a major
newspaper,
and you're caught in the middle of this epic disaster.
The situation is nearly hopeless. You're trying
to shoot career-making photos. There are houses
and people swirling around you, some disappearing
under
the water. Nature is unleashing all of its destructive
fury.

Suddenly you see a man floundering in the
water. He is fighting for his life, trying not to be
taken down with the debris. You move closer . .
somehow
the man looks familiar. You suddenly realize who it
is.

It's George W. Bush!

At the same time you notice that the raging
waters are about to take him under ... forever.

You have two options--you can save the life of G. W.
Bush or
you can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize
winning photo, documenting the death of one of
the world's most powerful men.

So here's the question, and please give an
honest answer:
Would you select high contrast color film, or
would you go with the classic simplicity of black and
white?

Black and White...
It is a case of knowing the subject well. To see the world as the subject sees it... thus a clear choice!

It is true that color can be greyscaled later, but the quality of black and white film, the actual stock, is better for making a picture black and white. Greyscaling will make more grey, taking out a lot of the wonderful lighter tones that are brilliant with black and white film. Color can also detract from the intensity of the picture.

However, since he will be in dark water (either brown or near-black), this means little contrast between dubya and his surroundings.

While it's not as beautiful, I say color. Considering the circumstances of his peril.

And remember, in order to capture The One Photo, you'll have to take a couple of rolls. Start shooting as early and frequently as possible.

And, later, should people condemn you for your decision to take the picture verses save the president, remember the following: telephoto lens. You were in no position to save him and were dedicated to your duty to bring the news to the people instead of losing your own life in an absolutely hopeless situation. Hero is cool, to be true, but so is delivering the news.

Regardless of what people think of Pres. Bush, I'm answering this question honestly. While it may be true that a photo such as that might be a once in a lifetime shot, human life is so much more precious than any career opportunity.

I would toss the camera aside to save another human's life.. regardless of all else.

(and waits to see how bad I get blasted for this answer.. but really doesn't care)

What a great question! I'd definitely go with color so as not to lose a single shadow or glare. It would be more dramatic and really strike home to the people.

My caption would be: One death for a man. One giant party of mankind.

That's an easy answer. Something a lot of people don't take into concideration. I photograph completely digital. So, I'd photograph the image in color (as I do with everything) then once it's on the computer, I'd look at it in color and in B&W to see which looks better.

I would throw the camera down and save George W. Bush. I may not agree with everything he has done as President , But he is still the President and every human life is worth saving.

haha, all right I never read answers of other pages but let say I sure would have camera on high quality (since I am sure I will go for digital) and I would go taking pictures closing in to help him and sure will try to drag him WHILE keep on clicking, haha yes

and then I will take more of pictures after reaching us to safe spot. By this I will achive several benefits.

1. Saving the life of powerful man, whatever I feel about him
2. Great benefits :D such as living high quality lifestyle anywhere I want? wow
3. My Picture in like every, every newspaper magazine front page on every website (what a dream haha)
4. Awards perhaps.. for bravery, for passion of profession, for skill to help while taking great snaps..!

and...
5. To keep remind Mr. Powerful for rest of his life that he can be as weak as anyone and his life is depend on someone so unknown so weak.. like me..

One can dream high .. haha

That was funny, the ending question surprised me!

However... I would never allow somebody to die in front of me if I could help save their life. It amazes me how people find humor in death or the idea of somebody they dislike dying. People all around the world are hate mongers lately and it only takes one person to hate another for whatever reason for hate to become contagious. Look at the news lately...there's your proof!

Black and white all the way! Ok OK so I really don't think much of the guy, but I would try to help-maybe he would learn something form the experience-one can always hope!

LMAO......that's great here I am deciding whether or not to save his life, then your asking about film. That's a good one. I'd go with color, if there were time then black and white to hang up.
