I'm a Pennsylvania resident and I just had a fender bender today in New Jersey. Will I get a lot of points? There was a lot of traffic. Here's what happened: There was at least one car length of space between me and the car in front of me. The car in front of the one I hit braked abruptly, and so did the car in front of me. I did the same. However, of course, I hit her car, damaged the fender and did a little damage to my car. How will the points play out knowing that I'm a PA resident with a PA license but this happened in NJ???

Out of state is out of state - your PA license has no jurisdiction unless you commit a felony and you only had a fender bender in NJ, so you have nothing to worry about - although it may affect your insurance.

Sorry to hear you got in a minor fender bender… At least everybody was ok. Nope you should get any points out of the mess, only a whole lot of headaches from your insurance company. Here’s my advice next time if at all costs, stay the hell out of New Jersey. There’s nothing but a bunch of retard drivers and people in that state. Every time I go to Jersey I have nothing but problems. Stay Save!!!!

its your fault, you should follow the three second rule. Watch the car ahead of you pass something, when you pass the same object it should be more than three seconds. That is ample enough time to brake in case of emergency.

The points are added here in NY only if you were ticketed. Your insurance will jump up a couple of hundred of dollars depending on damage and injury

Do you mean points on your license? I don't think you'll get any unless you were cited for something such as reckless driving.
