Concerning the debate going on about intelligent design and evolution: is it possible that the final answer about which of these two seemingly opposite ideas is correct could simply be yes?
With one position firmly held by the believers and the other just as fearlessly defended by the non-believers, if you happen to be in a position somewhere near the middle, it does not look all that complex. From this position, you wonder why either-or has to be the answer.
If you believe that some higher being created the universe by intelligent design, what more elegant and intelligent design could there have been than a self-regulating system that continually checks its own errors and makes its own corrections in mid-stream as an integral part of the process.
This all seems quite logical to me although it probably won’t satisfy the believers because they are afraid to see any truth other than the one they have been told to believe in. Inversely it certainly won’t satisfy the non-believers because it leaves them stuck with a god that they are so obviously terrified of.
To sum up this view from the center, it might be most easily be explained by saying perhaps the designer was intelligent. Problem is, the designer was likely so intelligent that those seeking to prove that it is intelligently designed may be incapable of ever understand it well enough to see it for the elegant self regulating design that it has always been.
The nonbelievers will be similarly handicapped due to the internal terror the have about the idea that there may be a God. Neither side being able to leave their entrenched position for fear they may have to admit they were wrong. While the rest of us stand by trying to figure out what all the fuss is about. Personally I don’t think anyone is wrong, I just feel both sides are about half right.

In a word, no! Evolution can not fit in with a higher being if you are referring to God. It does not coincide with the Bible. Evolution is a religion they believe we came from a rock and evolved into humans and this is all based on beliefs/guess's with no facts. With this rock some how creating the information to create DNA (which is more complex than the space shuttle) . Unfortunately it has been taught as fact and as such looked at as fact!
It is impossible for the world to be 4.6 Billion years old. This can be proven by several things, here are a few ....... our population (we would have billions more people if we had been around as long as they say), the fact that we still have mountains(between all the rain, landslides shifts etc...the world would be flat by know), the speed of the Earth (we slow down 1 second every 1 1/2-2 years we would be spinning way to fast billions of years ago), the distance of the moon to the earth (if it has moved the same rate it would have been touching the earth a little over 1.5 billion years ago. But they need all this time to try and make their "Religion" sound plausible if the earth was less than billions of year old then they know they are defeated but they are trying to continue to hide behind the charade.
Meanwhile....
I don't think that there is a coincidence that the oldest tree in the world is 4,300 years, the oldest/largest desert is estimated to have formed in 4,000 years and the Great Barrier Reef is not much more than 4,000 years old( I can't recall the estimated age!!) This would all make sense when you realize that Noah was floating on a real big boat 4,400 years ago!

The only thing evolution conflicts with is the fundamentalist brand of Christianity offered by some Christian churches. They see a conflict because they read the Bible literally. These Christians want to shape the universe to fit the Bible. Nothing rules out creation by a higher power using evolution as part of the process. The same would apply to the big bang. Deists believe that God probably existed. The basis for this belief is not scripture but science, logic and rational thinking. Embracing what science is revealing in no way goes against that the universe and its contents were a creation. Its more about the method.

did a higher being create the precursors of life? Is evolution really a science experiment by a small child in another reality? Is the universe being guided by an unseen but all powerful entity or anamorphic Deity? Will Gilligan ever get off the island?
One of the arguments I frequently hear is "can evolution create a pocket watch?" Well, it did. The microbes developed into multicell creatures..........a few million years later the Swiss made a pocket watch.
or you can say God created the microbes that evolved and built a pocket watch. Wow! Creationism Rocks!
You can blend any ideas you want, some may be more believable than others however. The bible has created tens of thousand different sects that call themselves Christians. Other tomes have created other religions and sects. Putting a bunch of bones together has created a totally different theory.
I say enjoy yourself, enjoy life, find people whom you can enjoy yourself with. Whatever the future holds, life, precious life, is too short to waste on useless arguments. Good luck.

Of course it can. It all depends on which higher being. If you are talking about Gods from the major religions, you'd find that it is difficult to reconcile the religious texts with the ide of evolution. God created man perfect. You don't need evolution for that.
If the higher be being wasn't bound by religious texts, it would make sense to create laws of nature and then use them to further the creation - so evolution makes complete sense as a tool to create different species.

Sure it can. Who is to say that God does not choose to work through scientific principles.
But, that's not the problem with evolution. The problem with evolution is that it is junk science. It has failed every single scientific inquiry into the theory across most fields of science. Since science is objective, this means the theory is false.....end of story.
Which brings up the real issue. Marxists use the phony debate between evolution and creationism in an attempt to trick people into giving up their faith. The reason is that people without faith are accepting of all the heinous evils (evils like the genocide of the hundreds of millions of people marxism has already put to death in recent history) inherit in marxism. Put bluntly, they work for satan. You can tell they work for satan by the things they do and the reasons WHY they support certain issues. Evolution is a key part of their plan. Too bad for them its a dismal scientific failure. But that doesn keep them from keeping on, keeping on.

You can overlay creationism on evolution, but you will always come to the question "Who created God?"
Now, you can't have both a 6000 year old Earth theory with evolution, or any of the other craziness coming out of the IDers, but basic creationism, the idea that God uses evolution to create, can be laid over evolution, but can't be scientific as God can neither be proven or disproven (a requirement for any scientific theory).

This hybrid theory exists.
Its called Intelligent Design.
It sorta works like this:
Yes, evolution happened, but with the help of a creator/designer.

I think some folks try and wrap their mind around adam and eve sinned causing god to put us on the path of evolution. If we come here seeking knowledge and don't want a paradise, then let's start at the begining.
Personally I don't really think it matters. I don't believe either theory holds all the answers.
Peace!

Believe it or not, I remember when a Sunday school teacher told me that the skeletons of dinosaurs were put there by Satan to confuse the christians. I believe there is an intersection where evolution, creation and science can come to agreement. We're just not there yet.
