Please ignore the above answers. (Sorry, folks.) There are reasons not to try to move teeth and short roots are one of them. Teeth move "through" the bone because the forces applied to the teeth remodel the bone, causing it to dissolve on the side of pressure and deposit on the side of traction. If someone who has actually seen the patient and their x-rays says that the roots are too short to risk the procedure, I would not want to second guess the specialist via modem.

Sounds like that doc is a quack. See some other orthodontist. If your roots are too short moldings would have yank them out as well.

This may sound very weird to you but when I was younger I had a overbite, couldnt afford braces, so I used them small rubber bands that they use with braces and they straightened my teeth out very well. Hope this helps you, it did me!!!

Ask him about Invisalign, they're technically braces, just without the metal...and the wires...and the elastics.....and the headgear

If your teeth aren't too out of line you can try the clear retainers.
