You have to take this forum for what it is. I believe that:
1. It is used to ask legitamate questions
2. It is used for entertainment
3. It is used by kids for fun
4. It is used to insight controversy
5. It is used to vent frustrations
6. It is used to get reactions from people
7. It is used to instigate others
8. It is used viciously
The bottom line is that you need to be able to determine the intent of the individual and not take anything personally.

No, I don't take it seriously or personally. Just another website people can hide behind and act like they are someone they're not.

I take it in the context in which it was provided. Which means it's a product of the Internet and the quality of the answers is therefore a crapshoot. If you're willing to gamble and be responsible and understand that answers are going to be variable, then it's OK to use it. I wouldn't suggest that too many children use it however because in its current condition, some of the questions are a bit racy!

Sometimes, I take this personally especially if I had posted or responded to a serious question. But I am understanding more and more every time I participate that there are people on here that just seek to pass time insulting strangers on the computer.

I make an effort to be sure that all my questions are of a serious nature. I take the fact that we have this tool to communicate with others very seriously and I think that others would do well to do the same.

Well, the old saying goes that if you're not making mistakes, you're not trying hard enough.

I get a kick out of this forum, I think it's a lot of fun, I think it lives up to the billing. It's a good place to get your views challenged,
a good place to learn about others' attitudes/opinions, all in all a good thing. 'Blogs etc. were born in america, freedom's kind of fun...

if you were to use common sense on the things you read and leave out the "lack of knowledge" some people have yahoo answers can be a very useful site to help with any serious problem you may have.this site was meant to be informative.

I wouldn't be offended by the answers because they are someone's opinions. Who am I to tell them how to think and act and speak? We wouldn't have topics and forums without different opinions and views on things. It's eye opening to read other peoples thoughts. If it's something that would offend you, you shouldn't participate.

No, I don't get offended by this forum. I do get offended by Mexicans who think that they are above all laws and think they have a right to constantly disrespect Americans and our flag.

it is extra proper to be truthful. The factors do not count number in genuine existence besides. and those who record solutions only because they weren't advised what they needed to take heed to are immature.
