Well, I'm just curious- I mean, I'm a huge believer in "things happen for a reason". The way I see it, if it's meant to be (grow old with the love of your life, even if they don't know you like them or things are complicted etc.) it will happen no matter where /how the wind blows etc.

I met my current boyfriend six years ago, we had a thing for each other from the beinning, never said anything, went on with our lives.... He did in life what he had to do and and I did mine, we lost contact after a year of knowing each other. We both had our trials that made us stronger.

Guess who I recently met up with and am happily with? :D Having the time of my life. Everything happened for a reason.

As much as I would like to believe it, I don't. Some things can happen for a reason for sure..but in relationships and love, it is more like happening for a reason, or a season, or a lifetime. (like that saying goes). By the time you get together with the one you love that much...you might find your feelings have actually changed. I'm not saying it won't be love still...but it could have evolved more into a friendship love perhaps. Because over time, people do evolve and change from what we initially fell in love with. Sometimes for the better, but many times for the worst.

Remember your first love...ohh, how you loved them. And as the years pass, you still think of them in the same way. That's because you are remembering the love and them as they were in the past. But if you had the chance to get together with them in a relationship years later, you would probably find they are not the same person that you loved.

It's also important to remember that while you are waiting diligently for that "dream" love, you may be totally missing the doors that are wide open that are offering you real love, not a fantasy. And that would be so tragic.

I do. I am seeing that situation in my own life. Unfortunate circumstances caused my sweetheart and me to break up, now we are back together and fighting hard to make things work. It is a long story, but it is a story that proves how strong and binding true love really is. It also does prove that when something is really meant to be it will work

a few weeks ago I would have agreed with you.

I loved my girlfriend, no matter what she did or said and I tried to do everything I could but I guess I never got that in return. When she broke up with me I was so confused and hurt that I just don;t know what to think anymore
