It is easier to spot those who do not read. I prefer anything that promotes further thought or inspires me. I seem to go in cycles...reading everything I can get my hands on...and then not picking them back up for a while. It is my way of remaining balanced through books and then with my interactions with real people...for wisdom is contained within all of us. Some of my most profound insights were provided by children. And before I sound too profound...I also read for fun! I surround myself with books at all times, and have many.

I read constantly - I often have several books going at a time. I finish at least one a week. As for what I read, it's about a 50/50 split between contemporary literature (well-written fiction) and an eclectic assortment of non-fiction. How many books I own - well, I've never counted. And don't want to take the time to do so. I've got floor to ceiling book shelves in two rooms in my house, and piles of books sitting around, because the shelves are all full!

I knock out at least one a month... mostly science fiction or fantasy novels, but also some non-fiction science stuff.
The last time I counted my books was about ten years ago and i had just shy of 1,200. It must be over 2,000 by now. My friends give me lots of books when they are done reading them, i never have to buy any unless it is something specific I want. The last book i bought was about the life and writings of Richard Feynman, but I haven't read it yet.

I read at least one book a week. When I was a pre-teen I read a lot of fiction. As a teenager I matured to real stories about serial killers and unsolved crimes. Now I find myself reading informational texts: publications related to environment, health, art history... these things are key in helping me make, what I feel are, informed decisions about my health and for my career.
I currently don't own many books because my husband sold most of them when we moved across country.
Until we build up our personal library, I hit the local library on a regular basis. I currently have 21 items checked out......

Hi...
I feel like a book-a-holic..I love to read...I read everyday..different types of books. I read a lot of children books to my students..at least 8 a day...if not more...(PK). I also read romance, self help, books from around where I live, about the traditions, the ocean. animals, etc. I have a long list of books that I enjoy and authors. I also like to read magazines, and do it yourself books.
Reading is knowledge. Never turn the lightbulb off to reading.
I have tons of books. I am actually starting to go thru them and give them away...because there are so many of them.
What types of books do you like to read ?
Where is your favorite place to read? (mine is the beach..or under the shady tree laying on the hammock!)

I own around 1,000 books. I love classic novels, and I adore historical fiction. I read one or two books a week, but it depends how many tests I have that week.
