when Archimedes stepped into the bath and saw the water level rise, he realized the importance of water displacement and he jumped out of the bath shouting Eureka, which means "I found it"

I think it was Archimedes, the greek mathematician, when he was supposedly taking a bath. He realized that the water in the bath was raised and leveled out when his body was immersed thereby displacing the volume of his body...something along this line ..... :-)
