Have you ever heard of the phrase: "We are a microcosm of the macrocosm." What if anything does this mean to you?

Literally, it is impossible to separate anything from the Universe except in concept. Aboriginal spiritual traditions are noted for often having no word for "religion," since all life is spiritual and there is no way to separate one's self from the whole.

Microcosm/ macrocosm reference: There's a descriptive model of reality called the "Holographic Model," which illustrates how modern physics supports the idea that all points (things/ events) that exist, have ever existed, and that will ever exist are inextricably related to all other things and are mutually influenced.

The Holographic Universe, by Michael Talbot , 1993, is a fun book, easy to read, and chocked full of imaginative ideas.

It depends if I'm under the influence of D M T or something similar! Trytamines have an incredible ability to reconcile the microcosms and macrocosms into an indistinguishable whole! Under normal circumstances though, I tend to live life from behind a glass wall. Disconnected from stimulation provides an automatic emotional defence mechanism from the unknown or unaccounted for.

Macrocosm and microcosm is an ancient Greek schema of seeing the same patterns reproduced in all levels of reality. Basically we are part of something much bigger. We are a simple person with our lives but all our lives together make up something much larger.
And yes, we are all part of the universe!

How could a cell think of itself as not a part of the body? How could a finger consider itself a separate phalange? The only such people, think that God has made them divine, and above all his other creations. Even these folks will know in the end, as they are simply re-absorbed into the universe.

I usually only think about it when I look into the sky at night. If you have ever lived in the country, far from the city lights, looking into the night sky can make you feel small and insignificant .... then I look into my children's faces and see my own importance.

When I look into my soul I see God's love pouring out, and yeah, I know I'm part of the universe :)

The universe exists without physical limits in any direction. Just as sub-atomic particles form an atom, and atoms for a molecule, and molecules form higher compounds, so does our world exist as both itself as well as part of something much larger.

If not a part of the universe while still on earth how can you be separate from it? You may be the tiniest of the tiny iota within this universe.

I am separated from it and set apart for God (who is not part of this Universe. He made it. I can make a pretty picture. That doesn't mean it is part of me. Unless i am really really weird.)
