Ad-Aware SE and Spybot Search & Destroy. There is also House Call at www.trendmicro.com that will scan your PC for free and remove the spyware.

totally agree with spybot search and destroy and adaware, they are the best, don't forget to use the immunize feature in spybot s&d which will protect your computer against downloading from known bad sites :) both of these programs are free and available from download.com

ps. both of these programs remove spyware from your computer for free, no need to purchase for personal home use.

beware of stopzilla and anything to do with stop-sign spyware removal they are a spyware program - do a search on them if you don't believe it.

Windows Defender works ok. Make sure your copy of windows is legit. Still, I think I like Spybot S&D better. Below is the link for Defender and Spybot You should also get firefox and quit using IE

Spybot: Search & Destroy
Ad-Aware
SpywareBlaster
Windows Defender

See sources for where to get them. Install them all, since they don't conflict each another. And, yes, there are all FREE.

I ran into the same sorry scam. They scan it, find it and they promise to get rid of it, if you pay for it.

I went ahead and downloaded StopZilla and it's fantastic!! It ain't free...but doggone it it actually worked.
