I think everyone should have their dogs and cat fixed so animals won't be brought to the world to suffer. If you don't agree tell me why people should not have animals fixed.

Some people still believe the old wives' tale that a dog needs to have a litter before it is fixed. Or they want the kids to see the miracle of birth. They should take their kids to the animal shelter when all of those poor dogs are being put down and show them the miracle of DEATH.
The only good reason to breed a dog is to improve the quality of the breed with top champion dogs who are very healthy. And most good breeders have long lists of people waiting for their pups. And good, responsible breeders will always take back one of their dogs - no matter how old it is, so it doesn't end up in the pound.
Puppy buyers should educate themselves BEFORE they get a puppy. That way they'll know how to get the right breed for them, and properly raise and train it so they won't HAVE to get rid of it.

haha i just had a question similar to this...only different.
but people breed dogs for work, show, entertainment and to serve other purposes. I do think certain animals should be fixed, but if they are in an environment where they arent wondering the streets, and reproducing like rabbits, and the owner is successful and knows what they are doing, then they should have the right to breed. and a lot of times people just can't seem to find the right dog at a shelter, or really want a purebred dog with great bloodlines. It may sound mean but this is what people have been doing for a VERY long time.
Both my dogs are from breeders, and i couldnt ask for anything better.

to answer your first question, people breed dogs & cats as pure-breeds...for some stupid unknown reason, they're considered to be worth more (maybe it's a rarety or something...last I checked, pure-breeds were dumber and had more medical issues). Dogs on the street and all are usually mixed breeds, and sellers can't make money off them.
Your second question: yeah, I agree...we should focus on the homeless dogs and cats first (b/c believe me, there's so many of them). Maybe take them in and give them a place to live? And then neuter them so they don't make more unwanted kittens.
hmm...this may sound bad or dumb (no, I'm not a pure-breed), but what about a similar situation with people? Focus on all the homeless kids in the world...give them homes, get them off drugs, clean them up...and not let anybody have any babies until all the ones on the streets have got homes....hmmmm.... (I'm not being sarcastic either).

Some people are ignorant, others are lazy and some don't think it's a problem. Still others regard them as only animals and why should they spend money to fix them when some people don't even remember to feed them regularly or bother to look for them when they are missing.
Every day I see it, I work at a shelter.

BECAUSE THEY ARE STUPID AND DONT CARE ABOUT HOW MANY ANIMALS GET RAN OVER OR PUT TO SLEEP EVERY DAY. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE MONEY THEY MAKE THEY DONT EVEN CARE IF THEY GIVE THE ANIMALS TO GOOD HOMES. IF PEOPLE WONT BE SO STUPID THEN THERE WOULDNT BE NO USE FOR ANIMAL COPS. WHICH I LOVE THAT THEY TRY TO HELP BUT IF WOULD BE BETTER IF ANIMALS WERE NOT IN THAT POSITION IN THE FIRST START.

People are selfish and greedy. I agree with you 100% and it angers me that many people would rather spend thousands on a "pureblood" than give a homeless pet a chance.

#3=*MY* dogs are purebred ON PURPOSE,buyers screened,pets on SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACT to be spoiled just about rotten.

i think why most people do that is becuz they dont have enough money to get them fixed..

because they think puppies are cute, i think they are cute too, but they're cuter when u know u are giving them a better life in my opinion
