If this 'man' is going through such a troubled times -- making the relationship work is going to revolve around
comforting him
being there for him
and GIVING HIM SPACE
The last thing that your friend needs is to smother her man with "pay attention to me" sentiments. The two most important women in his life are leaving this world -- she should be there when he needs her, and back off when he needs to be alone.
If she's not sure about it, ask him. Guys will tell you when they need space, when prompted. ^_^ Good luck with that, querida.

Just keep telling her that it is going to take him some time to come to terms with his own feelings about his Mother and Grandmother. It is not that his feelings for her have changed. His emotions are on Overload at the moment and maybe he just can't quite sort them out.

Of course he's in love with his her, but you can't expect him to act the same way after such a loss. I suggest she just stick with him and be there for him. He will appreciate what she has done and hopefully he return to his old loving self.
wish her luck.

unfortunately this is the time for her to maybe be left alone. somethings you just need to get over by yourself. Just let her cry and be sad... soon enough it will pass... give her some space but keep reminding her that you will be here for her.

You must find someone for them to talk to. A professional, as this may go deeper than any good friend can fix!
