Speaker wire usually consists of two conductors/wire, one being designated as the positive (+) lead and the other the negative (-) lead. Usually the positive lead (+) is red in color and the negative lead (-) is black in color. The color doesn't matter, just be sure you keep it the same all the way through all your connections. Strip back the insulation of each conductor to expose about a half inch of bare wire. Depending on the type of banana plug you have purchased, you will either put the wire around a screw and tighten the screw down on the wire or you will need to solder the wire on a metal tab. The banana plug will probably have a removable sleeve of which you will need to take off and slide over the end of the wire before making your connection to the banana plug. "Its really pretty simple!"

The previous answer pretty well described the method and I totally agree with him. Banana plugs have a little screw down in the hollow back tubes. back out the scew a few turns, then slide the stripped wires through the side hole then crimp the wires down with the screw by tightening it. One for each lead of the wire.

I do agree as well, if you can get the solder type, get em. As long as you have access to soldering equipment.

if you can or know anyone who could get them soldered into the plugs rather then just the screw in the side.
