Why Why do people purposely leave off a certain race on dating websites?

Has anyone noticed on certain dating websites like match.com or Yahoo personals that certain races are willing to date every race except they usually leave one off? Any one think this is mean spirited?

Why mean? You wouldn't want to contact anyone if you are not his type anyway.
