Why do you think the U.S has allowed the genecide in Darfore? (not sure if thats spelled right sorry) And for those of you who don't know about it, it's a genocide going on in africa, and the deathcount is around 800K people last time I checked. And especially if you realize how easy it would be to end it. The people who are killing ride on camels. They don't have tanks, no helicopters, no tanks. These little b**tards ride around on camels. It would take us almost no effort to stop it. So question is, why don't we?

I think it's a danged if you do...danged if you don't situation.

When the U.S. goes to help oppressed people in a country who ask for help, everyone yells stuff like, "Where's the morality?!!" "The U.S. is trying to be the world police again!!!" "Why can't the U.S. take care of it's own problems first?" "Why can't the Darfurians just live in peace and the U.S. leave them alone?!"

Then, when the U.S. DOESN'T go help a people asking for help, those same folks yell, "Why doesn't the U.S. stop this awful genocide?" "Why is the U.S. so greedy?"

Blah. Blah. Blah.

Here's my question. Why doesn't some other freakin' country, like the UK OR China OR Russia OR France OR Germany step in and help?

Would think that the "genocide" in Darfur is not is not an area of interest, which means it doesn't affect the U.S. so they have no interest in it. There is some oil there but, heaven forbid, the Chinese own it. And if you bother the Chinese they may not buy any more of the U.S.'s debt. Even worse, they may sell the debt they own and bankrupt the U.S.

I don't think there is significant enough strategic value for us to intervene in Darfur, I guess embryos in petri dishes are way more important than human life in Africa to the Republican government. Pro Life, as long as it's American life, and even then sometimes it does'nt matter.
