All dogs can be mean, it depends on how they have been treated. If an animal is treated with love and discipline it can be a awesome companion. Many small dogs are yappy and I am not sure there is an answer on how to stop it. Firm voice and patience is important.

I have a small one and a Pit, the small dog is way meaner then the Pit. Every little dog I know is yappy. That is my problem, if you are going to have a little dog then make sure it is not mean.

It all depends on how the dog was raised. It doesnt matter about the breed, or the size or anything else. It just depends on how they were raised. If you just recently got this dog from another owner, maybe they were giving them away because they didnt raise it right. If you got it as a puppy, maybe the parents of the puppy were viscous. Take your dog to a dog trainer who knows alot about dogs. They can answer any questions you have about your dog and stop the habbit. Or you can call the vet and ask them for the answers.

There's no size dog that's actually mean. The person with the puppy sometimes possibly chose a puppy that's maybe not the healthiest of the litter. And you must also plan on having time with the puppy for at least a week to properly train it. They need constant monitoring. Have you taken the puppy to your vet? Best way to stop a small dog from yapping is to use it for deep sea fishing bait.

Longer hair dogs float better but Chihuahuas work best, because they don't float and so have to flail around a lot, attracts the really big fish.

Be sure to use heavy duty tackle.

I have 2 chihuahuas and I did have a third a few years ago. Two of the three were very friendly and hardly barked, the third and youngest (also male) is very aggressive towards every body, he doesn't bark much but he likes to bite peoples feet and growl. So in my experience 1 out of 3 is.

I wouldn't say that small dogs are mean. I have a Yorkishire Terrier and she is the sweetest thing. First of all if she won't stop yapping then you need to teach her who is boss. I know it sounds cruel but you need to smack her on the nose or hold her snout or something to show her that you are the boss and she needs to listen to you! Good Luck! She might just be scared because she is in a new home and is frightened.

it depends on the breeding and the dogs natural temperment. some dogs are known to be aggressive towards strangers such as chihuahuas and miniture pinchers, but only because they are protective of their masters, if you need more info on the subject i suggest looking up the dog breed that you are interested in. all i know is that i had a chihuahua once that nipped off fingers if anyone other than our family came near her lol.

small dogs personalities vary from breed to breed. They are sometimes a little hyper. it mostly depends on how you raise them and which breed you get. The only reason some people think they are mean is because in movies people have them and they are supposed to look snobbish.
