After last night’s issue with them hearing my base, & them pounding on my ceiling (their floor), after I confronted them about the pounding & they finally told me it was because they could hear my base, the next morning this happened.

This morning my BF & I went to our car & found that the driver’s handle door knob thingy was loose lop sided & felt like someone tried to rip it off the car. Now we can barely open up the car door on the driver’s side. It wasn’t like that yesterday, & all of a sudden after finding my new neighbor he seems crazy while the lady seems ok. Do you think it was my new neighbors who tried to sabotage my (& my BF’s) car?

Sure it's possible that your neighbor did it.

It's also possible that some random jerkwad did it.

Without a witness or a security tape provided by the landlord, you have no way to "prove" it was your upstairs neighbor.

I read your other question, and there are two possibilities here:

1)None of your other neighbors have complained about the noise from your tv or stereo, so Upstairs Guy is just making trouble for the sake of it.

2)You are listening to your tv/stereo too loud, but your other neighbors haven't said anything before for whatever reason (maybe they aren't home at the same time you are).

Contact your other neighbors at a time when you haven't had the tv on. See if they can hear it, and/or are disturbed by it. If it dosn't bother them, ask them to write a short note stating they have never been bothered by unneccessary noise coming from your apartment. Armed with that, go to the landlord or management office, and tell them that your upstairs neighbor is *harassing* you and you feel threatened by the man's temper. Present the managers with the notes your other neighbors have provided you. The landlord managers will then conduct their own investigations, and if you are in the right, they will lean on your neighbor for you. Whatever else you do DON'T talk to your psycho neighbor again.

No matter who is right or wrong here, don't get directly involved. Don't stoop to Mr. Upstairs Neighbor's level. If he threatenens or harasses you other than for the tv noises, call the local police, then report the incident(s) to the landlord. A long track record of police involvement will wig out the landlord and get him thrown out.

Now...if your other neighbors respond with the fact that, yeah, now that you ask, your tv IS a bit too loud, then you need to turn the bass boost off and lower the volume. If you need it louder to hear it over a fan, air conditioner, microwave, blender or any other appliance, then shut them off first before turning the tv on.

If that doesn't work, please don't be offended, but you and your BF need to have a doctor's checkup. You could both be suffering from some degree of hearing loss (unlikely for both of you at once) or a buildup of ear wax deep in the ear, that would need a doctor's attention (VERY likely, more common than most people think, and easily fixed).

Good luck!

If people can hear you bass, it's to loud. When you chose to live in a place where you share walls, you have to be considerate. Regardless of what you think your neighbor did, you started it by being a crappy neighbor yourself. To keep the peace, let's pretend the world DOESN'T revolve around you and whatever you want to do for a little while.

I think if you are feeling crazy vibes from him then you are probably right. He does sound like he has temper issues. He may have done that to your car and he may not have. I would let the issue ride this time and see what happens next. If you blame him and it is not him (you give him ideas) and if it is him (you give him pleasure) by letting him know you know. It is always best to not get into it with people you do not know that live as close as he does. If he continues to bang, I would speak to management and see what suggestions they have.

It seems like it could be but there is really no way to prove it. unfortunately, I don't think you will ever know for sure. I would try keeping the base down and try not to piss them off any further. some people are whacked -be careful!

Ha Ha...I HOPE SO.
You noisy jerks deserve what ever pain is inflicted on you, because you do not respect the right to privacy.
your LOUD BASS violates a persons right to privacy.
If you want it L O U D then wear headphones !!!!!!!!!

probably.. I would alert your manager about these issues and refer to your rental agreement about noise ordinances.

He can get in trouble for stomping on the floor as it impeads on your peace and quite. Since he didn't complain to managment (as you didn't get a notice) then there would be no way for him to document that you were in voilation.

I found that out reading my contract.
