If they were not close to you they would probably not annoy you quits so much. "Familiarity breeds contempt" is an old Greek saying. The closer you are to someone, the more opportunities they have to annoy you. Try not to let it bother you. If it is a sibling, then it may be their intent to annoy you. If this is the case, then they will stop doing those things if it doesn't get the desired result. So the bottom line is, YOU are responsible for how you REACT to the annoyances coming from others.

Because they are there most of the time. The more time you spend with someone, the more likely they are to annoy you at times. On the other hand, you're also going to find more positive things about them. My family are very close & are some of my best friends -but, like the other people I consider my best friends I sometimes find them annoying (of course, they sometimes find me annoying too). When you care about people, they can do things that make you happy, sad, proud, annoyed, upset, etc.

Because you see them the most. Anybody can get on your nerves if you are around them all the time.

because you know them for who they are, and you probably do, or have lived with them. you know all of the quirks and they grate on your nerves. you allready know what they are going to say before they say it. you know how they are going to react to certain situations, it really bothers you and with time, it just gets worse. i think thats one of the reason why illegal drugs are so popular. they sure helped me.
