as long as your legally here ...you can be 16 or older...but if your less than 18 your parents would have to sign for you. Your significant other would have to be at least 18 due to his parents arent here...or maybe they are....in that case it would be 16 also. He would need an ID from the consular from the country hes from ..and birth certificate i think. luck

It depends on the legal age in your state. It's not a matter of him/her being an immigrant. Some states you can marry legally without parents permission at 17, in other states have to be 18. There's even a few states that allow you to marry with parents permission as young as 14. Check your state laws. Here's a website that shows the ages & laws for each state:

**Editing to add- did you know in Mass & Kansas, a girl as young as 12 can marry with parental permission?!?! Freaky.

I think some states allow you to get married at 16 without parental consent. If I were you, I would go to your state web site and check under marriage license or do search with the key words of legal marriage age or something similar.

You have to be 18 to do it on your own. I'm not sure if any states still allow a 16 year old to marry with parents permission...hmmm.

Are you planning to marry him so he can claim citizenship? If so, please reconsider. Most guys are only looking for one thing from a young woman your age. In this case, it could be two things he is looking for. He will tell you all kinds of things right now, but his tone will change once he gets what he wants. (Sex and citizenship), Please reconsider this big decision and wait until you know for sure that he loves you for you and not just a ticket into America.

Depends on where you live.

Why would you want to get married at such a young age? WAIT and get married when you are more mentally mature to handle it.

Good Luck!

If he is an immigrant and according to your age laws in the area you lived there won't be a problem. But if he is not a citizen then I don't know.
