2OOO years ago people were saying Jesus was mad, preaching to people about a big man who lives in the sky and lets u go to paradise when ur dead and it sounded crazy to most people, just like scientology sounds crazy to most of us now. So do u think in 2000 years scientology could have taken over as the mainstream religion?

Scientology will never take over as the next big religion, because Scientology has already lost the war on the interent (to censor their critics). With this already done, fewer and fewer people are joining scientology.

Scientology constantly lies to the public about everything, and this has been documented in law courts all round the world. There are currently only around 100,000 scientologists world wide, and the number is only dropping I'm sure...

It is a cult, and therefore will not be a mainstream religion.

It's founder was an intelligent but ill-adjusted person with physcotic tendencies who achieved nothing he said he did. He wasn't a war hero, he hadn't learnt of wise men in the east, he didn't finish any degree or higher education, he was a member of a sex magick occult group, and died a unhealthy broken man on a prescription of physchiatric drugs. He cobbled together other people's theories along with a splice of his sex magick and his sci-fi writing to come up with Dianetics and then scientology.

Let me repeat, he didn't have the education, knowledge or experience to come up with a workable theory on the human mind and soul and how to alleviate mans problems, he was not that great a man. Some of Dianetics are from accepted sources such as freud, memory regression for example. His books don't do what they say they do - you do not become a better, more adjusted, more intelligent or more able person for having done scientology courses. Scientology has never demonstrated the effects to any professional organisation or the scientific community - some parts are known to be in direct contrast with science such as narconon, the purification rundown.

Theta is simply lieing to you by saying they don't believe in body thetans (alien souls) inhabiting your body causing you problems. She has been in it long enough to have done OTIII, which is documented in court trials & by ex-members. Members of the church are actually told and trained to lie about scientology to the 'wog' public. The story of Xenu (as seen in south park) is actually true and was taken directly from official Church documents in Hubbards own handwriting during the Fishman Affidavit Court Trial. 61 Secret Pages of Church material was submitted to the court and thus is a matter of public record. Here is an article with lots of quotes from it, but you can get the whole thing.
http://sf.irk.ru/www/ot3/spaink-ot3.html

This of course also demonstrates the church is lieing when it says it is compatitble with other faiths. The belief in reincarnation and then the story of Xenu, how is that compatible?!?!?!? It isn't, thats how.

Have a look at these policies from Hubbard, and you tell me what you think of this organisation...

It is a cult, not a religion - cult experts world wide agree.
Here is one:

I for one will be doing my part to ensure it isn't the next big religion, telling people of the dangers, inconsistencies & the parts scientology won't tell you about.

Don't get me wrong, people are free to believe what they want, even scientology - and I will defend anyone's right to this. However I am against the organisation the Church of Scientology because amongst other things, it lies to, decieves and even harms members & critics.

My only objection to this question is the idea that Scientology
sounds "crazy".
Maybe if you only get your information about it from the media, TV...South Park (!) and various bogus websites, I can see how it would appear to be "crazy"
But these are not reliable sources of information.
Jesus is lucky these weren't around 2000 years ago....I doubt that Christianity would have survived it.

Based on what I know about it, and I have studied and applied it successfully for almost 35 years it's the opposite of "crazy".
(Obviously I am a Scientologist)

Just for the record here is a pretty good description of what it actually is all about:

Scientology is an applied religious philosophy. When I say "applied" I mean you actually use it in your life to change or improve existing conditions. This is different from a religious practice. All religions if you learn about them have a basic philosphy, but they also have certain dogma, rituals and observances, and a certain faith or belief is required. There is nothing wrong with this, but Scientology is not that kind of religion. It does not intrude on anyones faiths of beliefs particularly in the area of God , the Supreme Being, or the Infinite. This area is left totally up to the indivdual, which is why you can be a practicing Jew,for example and still use and apply the priniciples of Scientology in your life. It does not conflict. If anything it will enhance your understanding of your chosen religious practice.
You can have no specific religious beliefs and still benefit from using it.
And it is only true for you according to your own observation and experience with it.
It is a non denominational religion . The dictionary definition that applies:
Religion: The spiritual or emotional attitude of one who recognises the existence of superhuman power or powers.

The most basic principle of Scientology is that YOU are your own immortal soul, that this is not a "thing" you HAVE but what YOU actually are.
The whole purpose of Scientology is to increase an individual's understanding and awareness of himself. And thereby his native abilities .
When you do this the sphere and zone of his positive influence increases and moves outward into his life, his family ,his friends, his groups and mankind which he is part of.

How this result is achieved is the "technology" of Scientology, which was developed by L.Ron Hubbard after his extensive research and the discoveries he made, about the human spirit. The basic religious philosophy and knowledge of Scientology is very old, going back 10,000 years at least to the Veda or Vedic Hymns from the East. The developement of the technology is new.
He completed his research before his death in 1986 and left all of his results and copyrights
to the Church of Scientology along with most of his considerable estate., when he died.

He published a book in 1951 to communicate the basic principles he discovered called: " Scientology The Fundementals of Thought"
There are currently over 8 million Scientologists in more that 150 countries world wide. However we are a new religion, only 55 years old.
The true story of Scientology as a religion goes like this:
1. A philosopher developes a philosophy about life and death.
2. People find it interesting.
3. People find it works.
4. People pass it along to others.
5. It grows.

Based on what I know about it I would answer that it's a damn
certainty that it will take over as the mainstream religion, and in a lot less than 2000 years time.

Ha ha ha... I'm sorry... Your ignorance really shows on this question.

2000 years ago people were saying that Jesus was mad because he was claiming to be the son of God... dear. 2000 years ago they believed in God. But the fact that he was saying I and the Father are one... that is what upset them so much... that is what made them mad... that's why they thought he was crazy... because he was claiming to be holy diety. The King of the Jews. In fact.. that is even why they crucified him, for blasphemy.

No, scientology won't be the next big religion. Christianity is still the #1 religion.. and it's been.. like you said... 2000 years. It isn't going to change. God is eternal. Plus, the longer that time goes by... and the more archaeologists find, they realize that they cannot prove the Bible wrong with science or artifacts.. it just increases it's truth.

I know Im answering a lot of your ?'s. Simply, what I think, NO SCIENTOLOGY will ever ever ever take over "basic" religion that people do believe that there is A or 2 or MANY(depending on your chosen belief) God, Gods, Gods and Goddesses etc,. Centrally(basically)-most of the worlds population has a religion or belief that revolves around the same thing-being....GOD. Or on another note...evil...the DEVIL. And sadly, this is why some, myself included, are steered wrong when someone claims or is atheist. I personally am of OPEN MINDED.......Wiccan belief hehe! I hope this comment-answer to another one of your religious ?'s helps also with your problem of people mistaking atheism for something its not.

Scientology is just a way to scam people out of money. Eventually people will realize this and it will fall off the face of the earth just like the "Good Reverend Baker."

No, because there is no mystery surrounding Scientology. It was written by L.Ron Hubbard, a fiction writer. A writer of fiction wrote Scientology. Nobody else finds that incredibly ironic?

Only Rich people can afford scientology. Would you pay 15k for a 60min session and have to go to hundreds of these to go up one level in the scientology realm?

No. I think in 2000 years there will either be a million different religious sects, or there will be only a few (as people will have united), or quite possibly, humans will no longer inhabit earth.

Good Goddess, I sure hope not. I know I won't be a Scientiologist in 2000 years. I hopefully will have ascended by then.
