Basque (not dying, but endangered)! It's just a cool language in the fact that no one really knows where it comes from.
A dead language... Pali because I'm Theravada Buddhist.

Globalization is causing the death of most of the world's languages.
No sure why you would want to learn one but if you want to help save some, I guess you should. I know Latin and some Greek but Greek is alive and well as far as I'm concerned. But other than that, there are many many languages spoken by formerly isolated populations that are disappearing fast. Obviously they can't compare with Latin in the category of preserved written works, but perhaps one may find a gem for the future in one.

I am familiar with the Traditional Appalachian language from growing up in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia, though I would like to be more fluent.
Here is a link to a group that studies the Appalachian language: http://www.lowlands-l.net/appalachian.php

I learned Latin in college. I found it very useful, it helped a lot with learning other languages. It was interesting to learn it too, it's a nice language.
If I were to learn another dead language I'd probably choose ancient Greek.

Scottish Gaelic is a dying language... a lot of people at home in Cape Breton used to use it, but were forced to learn English in school and were often punished for speaking Gaelic. Now none of the younger generations speak it, which is a shame. But I'd love to learn... at least how to sing in Gaelic.

Ancient Greek. I'd like to read the philosphers and plays in the original language. This is also the original language of the New Testament, and I'd like to read that without all the spin that's been twisted into it by clerics with their own secret agendae.

I don't know Latin yet, but I'm starting to learn it next year. It's going to be really interesting. :)
If you want to learn a language and there's no one else to teach you, you can probably get a language tutor on tutorvista,
