Do you think I need to ask him out for dinner or something? Although, I have already cooked dinner for him.

Ofcourse its okay. But... The question is how you should tell him you like him. Find some signals he gives you and interpret them in two different categories.. friendly.. or liking(as if he likes you) try to see how he acts around you and if hes comfortable enough to know hes dealing with a friend who wants to be more than just friends. Ask him to hang out.. and its not strange because u are just friends at this moment so why not hang out.. you should flirt with him alot and call him cute names like dork or loser but dont over use them..
ask him to see a movie at youre place and then if he obliges watch the notebook.. and if he will watch it with you and let you cry on his shoulder.. you know he likes you

Start out as friends and take things one day at a time. I believe it is best not to rush into any thing as you hardly know this guy. Ask him a lot of questions, and later on if the friendship progress base on his answers to your question.
See if there is any truth to them and best of all listen to your gut feelings about him. For all you know he could have been married have Kids etc.
It is best to be prudent and move very cautiously and don't let your feelings blind you from making a judicious decision about him ever.

of course its ok... in fact its better!
Now you have had a chance to get to know him without the pressure of trying to impress eachother and you still like him!
Flirtingly (but not too much) ask him out by saying something like " hey, would you wonna maybe go see a movie with me... there's a great show Ive been wanting to see and I thought it would be cool if we could go together"
That way you don't get stuck with your foot in your mouth if he acts uninterested.... you can just be like " Cool.. I'll just get (so and so) to go with me, it's all good" and then wink at him and act as if everything is fine even if your crushed... its very important too save imbarrassment if you just shrug it off like it's no big deal. Of course if he says yes... still wink at him! And do a victory dance inside!

That is something that BOTH of you have to come to an agreement on. If he is not aware that you really like him it sounds to me like you two better become more acquainted before making such a big leap.
If it's meant to be it will happen. ;)

Go ahead and just tell him. If it doesn't work out then, you have a great guy friend, which is very rare!!!
