You may need to brush your tongue to remove any film that has built up. This may help you have fresher breath. Good luck. Also, ask your dentist for advice on your next visit.

Sure it's normal. But you should have regular dental check-ups just to see if you have any cavities or mouth disease of any kind. Just drink plenty of water, lots of times your bad breath is a result of not being hydrated enough when go to bed. Say you had some wine, or any alcohol the evening before, you are apt to be on the edge of being dehydrated unless you have enough water to counteract that condition. You can best do it before going to bed, with a big glass of water, or you can do it the next morning with even more water, probably better with some ice. Then you should feel better, fresh breath and all, pretty soon. You'll know.

1) You could have a dental infection - see dentist if you think that is possible. 2) You may have dry mouth (possibly if you take medications such as allergy drugs, antidepressants, and many others) - try using mouth wash, spray or tooth paste specially formulated for dry mouth. Drink more water and keep your mouth moist with lozenges or hard candies. Brush your teeth/tongue frequently to remove concentrations of bacteria that exist from a lack of saliva. 3) You could have stomach issues/reflux that causes bad breath smells that emanate from your stomach. - Ask doctor about possible digestion issues. In the absence of a disease, try taking supplements such as chlorophyll, parsley, or wheat grass - all are good for controlling bad breath. Some products such as "Breath Assure" contain these types of ingredients. Good Luck!

Your mouth does not produce as much saliva at night and bacteria that cause bad breath like that sort of environment. Are you brushing your tongue as well as your teeth? Are you drinking enough water during the day? Listerine has alcohol (which can dry your mouth) in it and I would suggest you change over to a neutral fluoride daily rinse instead.

It is completely normal because our saliva flow slows down at night when we sleep, some of us also sleep with our mouths open and that allows your mouth to dry out. Bad breath can also come from your stomach not eating for several hours is the culprit.

The med-mavens say bad breath is caused by
1.bad teeth, 2. bad lungs, 3. bad stomach.
A dentist can verify or eliminate the first and if your problem isn't in your mouth you had better see a doctor.
Of course 'morning breath' is common but if that odoroma persists...

Yes no matter what you do before bed, your mouth and breath still stinks, brush your teeth as soon as you wake up.
