magnetic resonance imaging

The scientific process is: The electromagnets, usually using super-conductors in the coils (to reduce electrical loss to heat and improve efficiency) are chilled to well below freezing. The magnetic pull is so powerful that it can line up the atoms around a molecule. When released, the instrument records the energy emitted by the atoms (moving back) re-establishing their rotations around the nucleus, are captured and converted to a visible image that can be "sliced" for study and interpretation. It doesn't damage the body or tissue.

MRI--->magnetic resonance imaging. Depending on the area of the MRI, it will scan it and let the doctors know if there is anything wrong with the body part. It is a painless, yet long procedure(about 45 minutes). Usually with babies and small children, they will give them a weak sedation medication to help them to be still.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging. It is very similar to a CAT scan, but does not involve radiation, which is a good thing.

Good luck. I hope it works out well for you.

From personal experience, the machine is pretty loud. Luckily, they usually give children anesthesia so they can sleep through the test. Don't worry . . . everything will be fine.

yep, that's it.... She'll be lying down in a tube with a lot of noise during your test. If you know that she is claustrophobic then ask if she can have an Open MRI. Good luck...I had my first one this year, I'm 44 years old.
