I don't know how long you have had this pup so I can't say if this is a big problem or no.

Generally, if I have a pup that won't eat for more than a day, here is what I do:
Buy some 90% lean hamburger and brown. drain fat.
Add a couple of eggs and scramble together. Allow to cool.
Mix this 40% meat mixture with 60% cooked white rice.
offer to pup a small amount
refrigerate leftovers.

They always eat this mixture. Once I have them eating regularly, I gradually add into this mixture whatever food I intend to feed pup reguarly. Don't continually switch foods.

Relax, this to will pass.

Not knowing how many days ago you got the puppy, or what she had been eating, bear in mind that she has gone through a trauma being separated from her mom and siblings, and going with strange people into a strange environment. She is probably stressed and most dogs will refuse to eat when stressed as they think they may be in danger. Cut up some chicken pieces - roasted or boiled - into tiny pieces, sit on the floor, and hand feed her some, and have all the members in the family do the same. Keep the food the breeder gave you, but start mixing it with a high quality food after a week or two, when she has adjusted to her new home. Go to a good pet store that sells high quality food such as Merrick, Spots Stew, Chicken Soup for the Dogs Soul, Solid Gold, California Natural, Wellness. You can mix both canned and dry - dry is good for the teeth, canned is in general healthier as it is less processed. You can check Whole Dog Journal for the annual pet food list of quality foods. How long has it been? Try giving her a week or so to adjust to your home. My vet told me that "they will eat when they get hungry" (actually my doctor says that about my 3 year old too). Or maybe she just wasn't ready to leave the mother yet. Will the breeder you got her from allow you to take her back for another week or two until her eating habits are better established? Some puppies take longer than others.

Keep trying but don't worry too much. She is a little depressed from leaving her family but she should know how to eat a little puppy food mixed with a little formula when she gets hungry. Just give her a lot of love and she will do fine.

Eating is the only thing the dog has control of. The puppy is suffering from separation depression. When she gets hungry enough she'll eat. Make sure she has access to food and water at all times and knows where it is.

My dog was like that when he was a puppy too...
He's 12 now and still not a big eater. Sometimes I actually have to sit there and coax him to eat. I think your dog is going to be like mine. He's healthy, but just doesn't eat anymore than he apparently needs!

You should contact the person you got her from and see what brand of dog ffod she is used to eating. Like babies different "formulas" can upset their stomach and taste wierd. They need to be introduced to different foods slowly.
