I don't know who Maitreya is, but if he's a public figure, I'd say "no" unless you're like one of the VERY VERY VERY few people that doesn't like him. The Bible says the Antichrist will take over the world; no one can do that unless they're liked by A LOT of people, just like Hitler took over Europe by NOT addressing his plans to kill and torture various ethnic groups, but rather by giving hope for the problems that were already there.

Maitreya is the Buddha who will come, even as all teachings of Buddhism have left this Earth. he sticks out because the successor to Shakyamuni Buddha. Buddhism actual isn't anti-Christ in case you consider that the teachings of Jesus are extremely similar, and that you're not from now on searching for attachment to the concept of an all-powerful author being. we detect one of those being illogical, yet Jesus' straightforward teachings are very logical.

Anyone claiming to be Christ is an anti Christ.Thus, Maitreya is such, but I don't believe he's THE anti Christ the Bible speaks of

Anyone who thinks that they are Jesus is probably wrong and a hypocrite. I mean, think about it, they probably have sinned and is most likely a cult leader or brainwasher.
