The dog is bringing in the ticks from outside. You need to use a flea and tick spray or medication and flea bomb the house to get rid of the ones in the house. But there is nothing much you can do except keep the dog from running around in the brush where he can get more ticks.

To get them off of your dog, put some liquid soap on a cotton ball and put it onto the tick...leave it there for about 30 seconds and then GENTLY pull it off. The tick suffocates and sticks in the soap and comes right off painlessly! There is also a product called cedarcide that is safe for pets and kills and repels insects around your house and yard. You can get it online at their website...cedarcide.com!

Same story here but we are working on a natural way to get rid of them. I have ticks for two years and finally coming to an end soon. Thank god it's less and less everyday. Contact me and i will gladly help you.
Don't use matches, it may burn your pet and the desease still there. Don't use chemicals on your pet. It makes the pet weak. Frontline just controls but won't kill them all. Remember: Big pet companies want to control, not get rid of the ticks. If you get rid of the ticks they loose another customer.
Thanks and good luck

Ooh I hate them bastards! My German Shepard would get them every summer, the heat hatches the eggs.Ticks are like fleas they have three week cycles.Which means you can kill what you see ,but in three weeks their back. Go to your vet and get a TICK collar, it will cost a few bucks but they work great. Then go to your hardware store and get flea and tick killer that contains "Pyrethins" Try to get the stuff in granular form, it works right away. You can find some help on the "net" too.

In order to get rid of the ticks you need to buy a special spray and rub it into your dog then once she is dry you gotta pull them off of her then get her a good collar that will prevent the fleas and ticks and their hatching eggs they sell them at walmart for $2.40 and their good for 8 months.I use them on my animals they work good.no other way.Good Luck

If you are confident enough and the dog has short enough fur, touch it with a lit match, not lighter. Also coating the tick in olive oil will cause it to pull its head out and you can remove it with a pair of tweezers. in the house, it will make a HUGE mess but powder "sevens" like a carpet cleaner will kill them. You will have to let it set for a couple of days but that is better than letting those little blood suckers attach to you.

Lit match, huh?.... Duh!!!
There is a monthly topical that takes care of fleas, most ticks, roundworms & heartworm .It's available through your vet. Revolution. Most vets want a heart worm test before it goes on your dog. I swear by the stuff!
Sorry, don't know about inside the house.
