You know, it's hard to make sense of what's going on because we are flooded with information about "now" instead of what was going on before.

Israel has long been a victim of two terrorists groups: Hamas and Hezbollah. These groups are radical Muslims and would like nothing more than to rid the world of the Jewish nation of Israel. Hezbollah is mainly a group in Southern Lebanon, and recently conducted an attack on Israel. Hezbollah occupies many urban areas in Lebanon, and that's why so many innocent civialians are getting killed. Israel has dropped leaflets warning civilians to leave the area, but I don't know if it's been effective in getting them to leave.

The United States is no big fan of these radical Muslim groups. Hezbollah is responsible for killing over 200 Marines in the 1980's, and has conducted other terroist attacks on the United States. We really aren't interested in the survival of Hezbollah, so I doubt if we will ask Israel to stop its attacks.
