The pharmacy is in the back, so you have to walk through the store and possibly buy more. The cigarettes are in front so they won't be stolen.

hey hun....you know that's a darn good question....you would thank it bein' a pharmacy that they wouldn't even sell smokes because they are supposed ta be sellin' thangs to help peoples health!....not make it worse!...you know that makes as much since as takin some one with hemorrhoids into a treatment place that only sells blow torches! lol.....love daisy

It is a security measure - to discourage drug addicts from stealing. Many of these places have drive in windows to accomodate their sick and elderly customers.
