A question to muslims?

just because mohomed had sex with a 9 year old girl does it apply to todays muslims? why do muslim men still marry underaged girls?
Dont you think that taking the koran for its literal truth is dangerous?

i feel that using any religious book as literal truth is dangerous

Mohamed (pbuh) did not have sex with her until she was psychically ready. She agreed to be married to him, she was very clever as she learned 100s of Hadith off by heart from him and after his death she used to teach his companions the Islamic law, she is a woman of very high status in Islam, she is called the mother of the believers in Islam respectfully.

How do you know Muslim men still marry underaged girls? Any prof or evidence? May be in some country or cultural thing. Didn't Christian Mormon founder Joseph Smith had 70 wives including underage too.

Don't generalize about Islam. There is nothing wrong with listening to the Quran or any other text. Its very harmful to just take a few quotes from a religious text and think it relates to a whole religion.

By looking at all your the questions and answers, makes me think you are nothing but a true RACIST.

Okey COrrection, Muhommed(peace be upon him) did noT have relations with a 9 year old girl. She was 12 when the engagment was made and she got married at 16. Thats usually the time when teenage girls start having "hormon" issues and start sleepin with guys(without marriage). That Marraige, between Muhommed and his 2nd wife was one of convience , an aliance for the betterment of both famlies.
Oh and just so u know, even though Muhummed had 11 wives, they were all to widowed women, in financial ruins and after those marriages, a revelation was send for the quran saying only 4 marriages are allowed(even though most muslim men only marry once, BECAUSe we're living in 20th centrny not Muhmmed's time).

Without explaining the difference of responsibility between having sex and having a marriage. I would like to discuss your question as follow:

·Muhammed married that lady when that was legal to do so. None of the idol worshippers, Christians or Jews of those times ever objected that despite being more powerful than Muslims. Would you give me the date when it became law not to engage or marry with a girl aged 9 or it’s just to defame the Muhammad?

·When he told Idol worshippers to believe him as a prophet, the people promised him to give him whatever amount of wealth he wanted or women he like on a condition to revoke his claim. Despite his answer was from Quran: Chapter 23. “Believers are successful……… who keep their sexual parts chaste…”
Why he faced so many difficulties? You might have read about Islam, don’t you think if he was sex addict, he could have accepted that offer?

To Muslims the things that apply are: order given from God and there is no order from God to marry a girl of specified age.

Does Muslim still marry underage girls? : Traditionally Marriage is done among Muslims with the consent of parties and with the witness of at least two person from both sides. You may provide me with some research about what percentage or number of people are doing it? - If you have done some.

Taking Quran as literal truth: Quran doesn’t change every year. However, there are people who play with the interpretations of Quran. Its fault of their own and not the book.

First of all ... about the 9yrs old girl (answering you about that for the zillion time):

So if she hated him ... at least she would have said bad things about him ... but there was a lot of her conversations about how the prophet treated her and how he respected her so much though she was very young ... and how much he loved her ...

And from her teachings and her conversations about her and the prophet, we learned how the relationship between the married couple should be...
