NO & NO. too much salt is never a good thing and the seeds themselves can be determental to your teeth.

sunflower seeds arn't the worst choice you can make in food, theyre high in protein and antioxidents, the salt might be a concern for you if you have high blood pressure or heart problems, but eating them without the shell is your best bet because the shells can be harmful for your colon and cause polyps, unless you have health problems that call for limited salt intake, sunflower seeds are healthy for you

No one so far has mentioned that they are very high in vitamin A which is toxic. Parrots fed on nothing but s/f seeds get multiple tumours from Vit A poisoning.
Eat in moderation and they will be OK.
