I am trying to keep my young children away from my mother because she is an alcoholic and has an extensive record. She has lost 4 children because of her habits and she keeps showing up in public places when they r on trips with their daycare, and I am told the daycare and i cant do anything unless there is a legal document stating she is to stay away. I don't know what to do, that is why i am asking my question. Thank you for taking the time to answer.

I seriously doubt it. I don't think there are any states that allow grandparents rights without a court order. Sadly though, unless the grandparents are abusive, alcoholics, druggies, and other certain situations, the child suffers from never knowing the grandparents. Riffs between parents and children should never cycle down to the grandchild level. That's using the child for one's own purpose and I believe that's about as selfish as a person can be.
