There are a variety of recipes for tartar sauce, but this is a basic one:
1 cup Mayonnaise
1 Tbs Lemon Juice
1 large Dill Pickle, cut into pieces
1/4 small Onion
1 large hard boiled egg, quartered
1 Tbs Capers, drained
1 tsp Chives, snipped
Blend in blender of food processor.

Take one cup of mayonnaise.

Add 1/4 tsp. of each of the following:

black pepper (not cracked)
celery seed
cayenne pepper

To this add two tsps fresh lemon juice

To this add three tbsps of each of the following:

finely minced onion
finely minced dill pickle

Mix well and let it set for at least one hour before serving.

I have been a chef for more than thirty years and this is a very good tartar sauce!

If you want a little excitement - add a dash of your favorite hot sauce!!

By the way, not to be condescending, but tsp means teaspoon and tbsp means table spoon.

Three teaspoons equal one table spoon.

Taste before serving. If you want a little more of something add it. If the flavor seems too strong add a little more mayonnaise.

Enjoy!

I have a great and easy tartar sauce recipe. Mix 1/2 cup mayonnaise with 3 tablespoons of sweet pickle relish. Mix and enjoy. If you like it a bit spicier, you can add jalapeno's or fresh horseradish.

Tartar sauce is a personal preference. I like a dill based tartar sauce.
I use the following:
mayo
onion diced fine
dill pickle diced fine
capers chopped

Add a pinch of dill weed.

Season with granulated garlic and white pepper.
If you prefer you can use fresh chopped parsley instead of the dill weed.

You can also add a small amount of mustard if you prefer.

Enjoy the sauce.

Get some good crunchy dill pickles and dice them up into tiny little cubes. Use some good mayonnaise (not Miracle Whip) to mix together with your diced pickles. It doesn't get any fresher!

1 tbsp. sweet pickle relish
2 tsps. lemon juice or dill pickle juice
1/2 tsp. cream or tartar

blend all together in bowl, chill for 20 minutes to allow flavors to combine
