That does pose an interesting thought. When I read your question I thought of a child wanting an ant farm. The child feeds and gives them water, nurtures them, and even shakes the farm when they don't like what they see as a way to correct the ants. Without the care of the child the ants in the farm would perish. That is unless they find a way to escape.

My personal belief is that he created angels that worship him, but I believe that he wanted a free willed creation like himself that would grow to have relationship with him. I know some people would say that I am making people out to be God or put themselves on the same level as God, but I'm not saying that. God said it and Jesus it. I think God wants fellowship and relationship.

Several times in scripture God states, "for this is my work and my glory to bring to pass the immortal and eternal life of man". We are eternal creatures of God, his spirit children, we came to this earth to progress and receive physical bodies and to be tried and proved, through the plan of salvation, which was from the beginning, he knew we would sin and provided a Savior for us to return to his presence. Through Jesus sacrifice we will return and be judged, no matter what ,we will all inherit immortality. Immortality means we live forever with bodies of flesh perfected. Regardless whether or not you were good or bad in this lifetime. The eternal life of man is a little different. In order to inherit eternal life, that is, a life in the presence of God and Jesus Christ, inheriting all that they have, joint heirs with Christ, we must be righteous, obey the gospel of Jesus Christ and be endowed, and anointed. Our Heavenly Father wants all of his children to return to him in the Celestial Kingdom, however this won't happen. God created man on earth, but spiritually we are his children from the beginning. I hope this might help. I don't think he was lonely but he desired our progression toward Godhood, where we could enjoy the fullness of his glory.

He made a bet with Satan as he was kicked out of heaven. The domain would be Earth and the wager would be all of humanity. They (not only God) created man... we are just mice in a rat race.

God made us for one reason: so He could have fellowship with us. It wasn't that He was lonely or needed us. God is self-sufficient. That means He needs nothing and nobody outside of Himself to fulfill His needs and desires. Throughout all eternity the Trinity has enjoyed perfect fellowship—but He made us in His image so He could shower His love upon us, and we could love Him in return. The Bible says, "God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him" (1 John 4:16).
God knew we were going to abuse our freedom and turn our backs on Him—and when we did, suffering and death descended on us. Adam and Eve lived in the most perfect environment imaginable, and yet they listened to Satan's lies and rebelled against their Creator. We have been paying the price for their sin ever since.
But this didn't stop God's plan for the human race! He could have simply destroyed us—but because He loves us, He provided a way for us to come back to Himself. Even before the human race sinned, God knew what He would do: He would send His only Son into the world to become the sacrifice for our sins. The Bible says, "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world ... to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 1:4-5).
Have you come back to God by giving yourself to Jesus Christ? Don't spend your life wandering away from Him, but discover the joy of having fellowship with Him every day. By a simple prayer of faith ask Christ to come into your life, take away your sins and make you His child forever.
