When the bible tells us to "love your Lord God with all your...," sometimes it lists mind, heart, soul, and strength- but it doesn't always name each one. Why does it exclude one in some verses? Is it just the writer's choice, or is there a deeper, more informative answer? If so, what is it?

A thoughtful question. Often the writer is speaking to a specific subject, so the emphasis is on that aspect. It doesn't mean that it is less important, sometimes it says mind, heart and spirit. God used different authors to write about things differently to reach more people with His Truth. That means different styles. If there is a deeper meaning, sometimes there is more that one can learn through observing what is omitted and where to look at what is more relevant to the subject. Other than that, I wouldn't concern myself too much with it.

The Bible never contradicts itself. It may seem to in some verses, like where it talks about Jesus coming as a thief in the night and then it says that He will come and every eye will see Him. A lot of people just take other people's word for what those verses mean. They don't know that the verse immediately following the thief in the night verse explains that verse by saying that if we know the thief is coming, then we will be ready for him. But if we don't know, then we are surprised. So be ready. That second verse explains the first verse. Later on, verses refer to that theme without directly going in to it because God assumes that you have read the other verses, and knowing that the Bible will not contradict itself, you will know what is being said. It is the same with the Love verses. It is in there once. It doesn't need to be in there again.

That is a very good question. SInce the Bible is the product of G-ds infinite wisdom, there is a plethora of meaning behind every single letter in the bible.
You can ask this question whenever the Bible chooses to use one specific word or phrase in place of another. You would need to look at each verse in its context to try and figure out why in that particular case G-d chose to use one phrase instead of another. And yes, there are many lessons that can be learned from the choice of words, in every instance.

That would be kind of like asking why; when you call your mom, you don't repeat the same thing each time. Cause your call isn't always for the same reason, or the need to specifiy certian things is always called for.
In part you can figure that various writers make assumptions regarding their audience. But i'd guess that it is simply human nature not to continually repeat something that a person might consider obvious, and not need repeating.

Mark 12:30-31 "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy innovations, and with all thy power: that's the 1st commandment. And the 2nd is like, specifically this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. there is none different commandment greater advantageous than those." that's what Christianity is all approximately; love.
