High or low WBC.
Percentage of types of cells that are outside of the normal range.

If you answer "yes" to either of the above questions, you need to talk to your doctor. These may or may not be signs of an illness, with AIDS being only one of the possibilities.

If you're concerned enough to ask the question- you need to be tested.

Talk to the lab or your doctor about the chances of false positive test results.

A number of symptoms associated with the flu may be the first to arise as early signs of HIV. These include:

headache
fever
tiredness
swollen lymph nodes (generally in the neck)
rash

Other possible symptoms are muscle and joint pain, sore throat, and ulcers in the mouth or on the genitals. Some people also experience night sweats and diarrhea.
