I am a Presbyterian Christian, but I'm afraid of the Catholic Church. I mean, I've been to California missions and the sanctuaries sort of scare me. Is this a sin to the Lord? If it is, what can I do to not be creeped out?

Your kidding right? I'm catholic and believe me there is nothing to be afraid of. Just realize that catholic masses are more oriented towards asking for forgiveness rather than whatever it is exactly you do in a Presbyterian service (cause you don't call it mass). I've heard people call catholic masses very dry, serious, and funeral-like. If you're asking for forgiveness, then you kinda have to be serious. It isn't a sin to be afraid of a church, but don't let a fear of the CC cast a shroud over it.

It is not a sin to be freaked/creeped out by the Catholic church, or any of their sanctuaries. Especially if you consider that the theology of the Catholic church is an essentially satanic departure from what Scripture actually teaches.

The Bible teaches (and always has) that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in the finished work of Jesus on the cross alone, and nobody can do anything (no good works) to earn it.

The Catholic church believes and teaches that salvation is by faith and works, and their view is a works-righteousness, which leaves their people with no true salvation, generally.

I'd be afraid of it too.

Personally, I wouldn't consider this to be much of a sin. But it would probably be just as well if you could get over your fear. You might want to try learning a few basics about the Catholic Church. Do you know anyone who is Catholic? Maybe you could go to some of these places with that person and they could explain things to you. Hopefully it would help you overcome your fear, and you would learn something at the same time. Cultural awareness stuff. Always good to have.

No, it is not a sin to be afriad of the Catholic church. You being scared of a sanctuary does not mean that you do not love God.
However, did you know that if you think something is a sin and
it isn't, but you do it anyway, then it is a sin, because you thought
it was a sin and went against what you thought was a sin against
God. Anyway, your fear is not a sin. So you don't have to worry.

OMG! and I thought the Catholics were "Parochial!" Oi Vay! The only sin unto the Lord is by one who would follow any variation upon the "law of violence." He is diametrically opposed by the "Law of Love." Period.

God is the Law of Love. The dark force is the "Law of Violence." That is all that religion should say about the matter.

Sadly, kiddo, everything else is a bunch of Dogma (dusty old religious rules) antiques, dark but very important looking ritualistic artifacts. All churches have them to one degree or another. Your Pres Church is familiar to you but I bet there's a kid out there that it would "creep out."

Relax and see it all for what it is. If it helps you get to your heaven great. If not, fine. Live and let live. Good luck in life.

You're not afraid of church per se. You are just afraid of a Catholic Church sanctuary. This is probably just a fear of the unfamiliar. It's not a sin and I wouldn't worry about it. :-)

The "Church" or the Body of Christ is not the building. It is not the structure that most people label church.

The Church is the people, the christians who make up the followers of Jesus.

So, no, being afraid of a Catholic Church (the building) isn't a sin, heck I'm afraid of those darn pews, they hurt. All that stand, sit, stand, sit, stand, kneel, stand, kneel, stand, sit, kneel, standing... oy.
