I was curious if creatine hurt your body in any form. I was planning on buying some and i wondered if your body was damaged in the short run or long run.

If you stick to the guidelines on the packaging and drink plenty of water, then using creatine is fine. I've been using it for a couple of years and have found no side effects, and I've read up quite a bit on it, and there doesnt appear to be any long term negatives either.

Your body naturally has creatine stored in skelatal muscles, but in relatively small amounts. Using creatine suplements as an energy system for excercise/bodybuilding, boosts the amount of this creatine stored in the muscles, allowing more energy/endurance when putting the muscle(s) under strain.

As well as energy boosts/endurance it's thought it also has an effect on muscle growth, probably something to do with the fluid retention in the muscles - which is a "side effect" of using creatine. This "side effect" makes your muscles look bigger, but can also make you look a bit bloated..

As I said, read the packaging - plus plenty of water and you'll be fine. It really works (for 95% of ppl), and I notice the difference when using it.

(im assuming your using creatine in conjunction with an excercies program here..)

Yes, it damages you in the long run. Its man-made. Any pill or medication has risks and harms your body over a length of time. We werent made to ingest certain things. And they dont tell us its bad for us until like 50 years later when everyone has cancer or heart problems from it. Dont be the guinie pig. Just workout to build yourself up. And then its 100% you.
