Validity period to Return Back after GC?

Question

Hello Friends,
I recently got my GC last month and upon the receipt I have gone back to India, can any one tell me
1) when will I have to come back to US so that I maintain the status for GC , and what is the maximum time I can stay in India without a re-entry permission.
2) Did I had to fill an re-entry form b4 coming to india ?
3) Will there be any problems for the same and I have take my social nos and my GC with me before leaving to India.

These questions should be posed to the INS. You don't want to screw up and lose your GC. These questions are too important to take the word and unverified opinions of strangers. Contact INS
