Why haven't people figured out the little debit machine at the grocery check out line by now?

It is not that difficult, think ATM!

Probably for the same reason people haven't figured out U-Scan (self service checkout). Why is it that I always get behind the really old people who can barely walk through the store, much less ring up their 20 items (when the maximum number of items is 15), and end up having the cashier who's overseeing things ring their stuff for them? Then they can't figure out the payment (debit card)!

I don't use the debit machines much. I usually pay with cash or a check. However, the few times I have used it- I needed help.

And, to top it off, the machines are different at each store!
Especially- swiping the card- it's a different way of swiping at each grocery store.

This may be why it's so hard to catch on.

I have not figured out why at Krogers in Virginia and Harris Tetter in North Carolina, there do it your self machine always gives you a total then its a slightly more total of like 22 cents or 9 cents once you go go to pay by cash or debit. Anyone out there know what I'm talking about or do I need help?

Now, now, patience is a virtue. You haven't lived until you are behind a lady trying to charge her groceries with 5 different charge cards that are all maxxed out! True story.

Many people are in too much of a rush going with motions to actually stop and think for a second these days.

They are all diffrent. Easy to figure out, but every store has diffrent manufactuters that they get them from so the processes might be a little diffrent.

I have no idea. Reading the prompts must be to hard. That and I think most of society is to used to everything being done for them.

Mostly because each one is different, the buttons are in different places, the prompts are different.....
