I thought my hair was originally brown, but I've been bleaching it 'ultra-light ash blonde' for about 15 years. I started using shades of red to darken it, but they all fade out. I've gone back to blonde, but I'd like to get a bit of body (not necessarily curls). Can I use a home perm kit and large rollers (and can you recommend a type of roller) to do this? I don't want to end up bald. Thanks

Having a perm with a overly bleached hair will give you a chemical haircut.

I bleached and permed my hair for years-and-years -- but I must stress that I had it professionally done at a beauty salon. And even then I knew that not even all hair-dressers were willing to do such a thing. It takes real professional know-how ... and even then I always understood that it could backfire on me. I never had a problem ... but I would sure never-never-never try to do it at home. Too big a change of burning-up your hair.

You could do that at home but the best thing is to call a salon and ask a hair specialist for their advice. They might have a good yet cheap way to solve your problem.

I wouldn't. My sister is a beautician and she changes her hair color all the time and bleaches it like you do, but it's so bad, she has to use a special shampoo to keep her hair from falling out. Be careful with whatever you decide.

Just stop thinking about that! That will absolutly ruin your hair! Consult a GOOD beautician

if you like your hair on your head, i wouldn't do it....a friend of mine did just that a few years ago...and at first it seemed fine...after a couple of weeks it all just started to snap off, we shared a house at the time and her hair was just everywhere.... you couldn't see the floor of her car for blond snapped off hair.....she ended up having to wear a clip on ponytail for like a year!!!! DON'T DO IT!!!!!!
