My friends are all in to Norwegian death metal, and i love it too.. all the goat sacrifice and killer riffs. but also, what if my love of God is super strong, will i be punished for this? the way i fuigure if i listen to maybe one track by 'pig destroyer' but don't masterbate that night Jesus will still love me.

it says in Ephesians that you should not even support in any way the things that are against God's will. Ex: listening to a crude comedian will not only bring to your mind sinful things, but it will also let the people around you know that you support the comedian and therefore you support the crude things he is saying. In the same way, the lyrics in the song will put bad thoughts in your mind- even if you would never do anything like that, just putting the thought there makes it easier for Satan to bring you to sin. Also, as you listen and support that music, it makes your friends think it's ok. Ephesians tells us not to take those things lightly. Whether you know it or not, you are looked upon as an example of a Christian.
I have heard stories from a fellow Christian about music she has listened to. She told us about how whenever she listened to that type of music she became more depressed, but she didn't even realize it.
Though you may think you won't listen to the lyrics; as you listen to it, it promotes it to others. Plus, some of it really does sink into your mind whether you are aware of it or not. There are a bunch of styles of music by Christian artists that you could listen to. Ask around or contact me if you need help finding something.
