Actually it is cold water which speeds up the diagestive system. Lukewarm water just does not make any sense, as it does nothing to either constrict the vessels, or dialate them. When you drink cold water things get more agititated, just like warm water soothes muscles, warm water slows down the diagestive tract. I really don't think either way really helps you lose more weight.

Drinking cold water actually speeds up your metabolism rate. Try drinking a glass of ice cold water first thing in the am. Also, do no restrict your food intake as this will kill your metabolism and your body will think it is hungry. It will respond by slowing your metabolic rate in order to hold on to the existing energy and fat stored. Drink plenty of ice cold water through out the day, chew your food slower and make smaller portion meals. It is best not to drink with meals as this dilutes the acids in your stomach that digest your food. Doing these few simple things you will be surprised at how fast and easy you will lose weight. Your metabolism is sped up by a sudden decrease in temperature- ice cold water 10 mins after your workout (cardio preferably) will do the trick.

The body has to work harder to warm up the body than cool it, like you can sweat, but all you can do to reallly warm up is cover yourself.
Either way drink your water in plentiful amounts! No matter the temperature, water can improve your body's functions so 8 glasses or more is great!

Drink up!

The only reason the temperature of your water could matter is when you've raised your core body temp such as in exercise.Cold water can defeat this thermogenisis. But it usually won't matter during the course of a regular day.And good for you.You actually spelled lose correctly. Most people don't.Good luck to ya.

Ice cold drinks help you lose weight. The coldness reduces body heat and your body burns fat trying to heat it up to the correct temp.
