Talking birds--cool or creepy?

I know exactly what you mean. I went to a zoo recently and heard this bird saying VERY CLEARLY, "Hello Claude". At first I thought it was my 23 year old son messing about, but when he assured me it was not him and the bird spoke again, I thought it was REALLY creepy! It just did not seem right that a bird should speak like a human. I know the bird had no understanding of what he was saying, but it was wierd.

Cool. Check out the comic "Monty." There's a talking parrot in it who carries on conversations with the other characters. Hilarious

It's cool!! And my bird, when you pick it up, and hold it upside-down, then swing it around a little, it makes a screaming noise like it's on a rollercoaster. Then if you tell him to stop, he says no. It's pretty radtastic! =]

I myself think talking birds are cool. I have a cockatiel & a nanday conure parret. They both talk. Tommy the nanday is very vocal saying words you don't want him to. Peanut my cockatiel sings & talks to me. He has a sweeter voice then Tommy boy.

The talking can be pretty darn cool. It's the screaming that's not cool.

For me personally it can go either way.

If you saw a Starling or Mockingbird talk it would be a little shocking.

But if you saw a macaw, amazon, or african grey talk you probably wouldnt care as much.

So it all depends man but for me its cool either way.

I think talking birds are pretty neat...I know someone who is teaching their bird the Andy Griffith song...although that is not talking. It's amazing to me that they can be taught to talk and mimic our words.
