1 USD = 7.995 CNY

100 USD = 799.50 CNY

China does not have a free-floating currency; they keep it "deflated" a bit for export and trade purposes. The US and Europe are trying to convince them to let their currency float, so that it has an accurate value (not an assigned value). China is slowly moving in that direction and have slightly adjusted the value of the Yuan.

You can convert all of the major currencies at Yahoo!:

Good luck.

there you go, i round it off to 8 yuan to 1 us dollar. easier that way. 100 dollars us is 800 yuan........more bang for your buck, right? go there, enjoy your stay and take lots of pictures, you won't regret it..........oh, by the way don't take any us dollars there, get your chinese yuan from an atm......my check card worked great. that way you don't need to convert us to yuan and so forth..........
