what difference does it make? will this keep him from making puppies? i do know he needs surgery to locate that other testicle, (because of negative health potentials), but i want him to try for a son before all that surgery stuff happens. and just because that "hidden" testicle gets found, does that mean that he HAS to be neutered at that time?

My brother had this with a golden retriever he had and first you need to have the vet make sure it not located in side it happens but i think he was told that he couldn't breed him because the breeder he got him from was a friend and she gave him the dog well below what she charges because he couldn't be a breadable dog i may be wrong i do know that if is undesended they have a high risk for cancer, so please go to your ver and make sure it is not inside if it is they will half to remove it,because it is more likely the problem and your looking at a bigger problem later.

sorry but the owners of females will run the other way since a male with an undesended testicle is likely to produce more with the same problem & such dog cannot be shown. I was told with my own monorcid that often they cannot get the undesended teste without disrupting the blood to the desended one. I think you are gonna have to abandon the idea of a son in favor of keeping him as long as you can.

Your dog has an undecended testicle. This a genetic condition that will be passed onto his offspring. While no immediate health problems may be present, not removing the testicle will lead to a greater chance of your dog developing testicular cancer.

Why pass on this condition to his puppies??

You should neuter your dog and leave breeding up to a professional breeder.
Breeding "just to have a son" is irresponisible, and you do not sound experienced enough to have a littler.

this is to "James".... give your dog oral pleasure?
what the hell is wrong with you, how to you even come to this conclusion?

i have a dog with one testicle and we never did have him taken in to find the other one, and because of that he has become very aggresive, down right mean in fact....biting at you, growling, snapping. I know for a fact that one testicle can make a male dog mean, it has to do with hormones.....but babies shouldnt be a problem good luck

This is not uncommon and depends on many factors if he can be bred. Talk to a vet.

Do NOT breed him. Get him to the vet and have it checked.
