Except for rare cases, I don't believe that breast pumping is BAD. I breast fed my son for 17 months. I was a stay at home mom and didn't need a pump until he was 6 months old and I went back to work. Rarely did I use a pump.

I regret this decision as I filled up so bad during the day that I was in pain and dying to get home to breastfeed so that I would feel better. Also, I would leak quite often because I didn't pump, so this was also a problem at work (fixed by boobie pads, lol).

I would suggest pumping your milk if you are going to be a working mother and that way, your child is happy when you are not with him/her and you aren't in pain with full breasts.

Also, the breast PumP isn't going to make you saggy. It's the breast feeding itself that will make you a bit saggy. This depends on your age.

I breast fed and pumped. My breasts still look like they did when I was in college. (I'm 32 yrs. and a 36C) I had no problem with them "hanging out".

Also remember, pumping makes it a lot easier if you want dad or grandparents to help in the feeding times. It allows you to get some rest.

And breast milk can be frozen and stored for a few weeks. I don't remember exactly how long, but check with your ob/gyn. Makes it convenient!

Your question doesn't make sense....what does "will it really loose your breast hanging out?" mean?

Yes....breast pumping is good...any way you can get breastmilk in a baby is good. Breastmilk is the gold standard for nutrition and is the absolute best thing you can give to a child.

Your friend should nurse and pump while at work for as long as possible. Every single drop of breastmilk she can give her baby is a huge benefit to both of them.

My best friend's sister used a breat pump at the hospital, but they turned the suction up too high and it burst capillaries in her breast. It got infected and curdled the milk in her breast! She had to massage her breast several times a day to get the clumps small enough and then squeeze them out through her nipple. It's a true story. She said it was excruciating. She stayed in bed for months because she was in such overwhelming pain.

But I don't think it made her sag...
