Nothing, he is your ex and you are free to date whoever you want. But I would recommend that maybe you end the dates at your place, out of view of the ex.

I think you already know the answer to this.
1. You are really only interested in the ex's friend because you want to make your old b/f jealous. When you play with people's emotions, be prepared for them to totally lose it on you and bash your head in with a lead pipe.
2. You want to mess with your ex b/f friend? Rule of law, you don't date people who are friends with your ex. They will find out all the dirt on you, and will probably act just like your ex did. They are friends and think alike.
3. If your ex is such a jerk, then why would you want to put yourself in a position where you would have to deal with him? What is this a soap opera? For gods sake, leave all the players out of this drama and find someone completely new.
I am pretty surprised you would be foolish enough to even consider dating this other dude. Something bad will happen to you, but you get what you deserve.

He has no right to be pissed off at you. you two ended the relationship for specific reasons which obviously could not be fixed and now you have moved on. Your ex is either a control freak and is trying to control you and his best friends actions or he is still in love with you and still is holding on to feelings. However, that gives him no right to be pissed off. If you and his friend like each other than so be it. Take it while its there you deserve happiness. Your ex needs to face the fact that you have moved on and he needs to move on too. Dont stop a relationship with this other guy just because he gets pissed off. He will soon realise that you two have moved on and he will accept it and move on himself. Just give it time.

But if you rather be with someone that will treat you like a QUEEN then you need to go with the friend and let that JERK realized what a wonderful person you were and that he messed up and now you are takin and thats gonna make him feel bad... You shouldn't take that much concern in other people's view on you relationship, unless they are you parents of course, so you shouldn't let your ex get in the way of you two. Also, please don't abuse the '?' and '!', it tends to make a bad impression.

I think you should talk to your ex's friend and discuss it with him. If he's willing to have a realtionship with you, then he also needs to be willing to deal with his friend.
