Truth (n.) (pl.) (trthz, trths) -
1. A statement proven to be or accepted as true.
2. Sincerity; integrity.
3. The opposite of falsehood.
"What is truth?" Pontius Pilate once asked Jesus. Do we even know the truth when we actually hear it? Do we even recognize the truth when we actually see it. Do we even believe the truth when we are confronted by it? Those who know the truth about God, stand by the truth about God.
"You are a king, then!" said Pilate. Jesus answered, "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me." - John 18:37
"Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me!, Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me?" - John 8:45-46
"He sighed and said, "Why does this generation ask for a miraculous sign? I tell you the truth, no sign will be given" - Mark 8:12

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." - John 3:16-21
"To many who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." - John 8:31-32

"Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place." - John 18:36
"He who speaks on his own does so to gain honor for himself, but he who works for the honor of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him. " - John 7:18
"I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward. " - Mark 9:41
"Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ." - Galatians 1:10

Yes I do. Jesus IS the truth, as it is written: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

How could you or anyone possibly know what the discourse between Pontius Pilate and Jesus was? Who was there to hear it? It certainly wasn't his disciples or followers, they all split the instant Jesus was arrested or so we are told. The people that would have been at his arraignment would have absolutely no interest in promulgating his story they wanted him dead. The four gospels don't agree on what was said, they don't even agree on the rest of the story. What's a mother to believe? Why do you want to waste your time reading and studying a 2000 year old myth?

Number one, Pointius Pilate was Heathen!, number two, JESUS had already Prophesied, the Birth, The Death, And The Resurrection and what would happen after HIS Crucifiction, but just like today, no one took Him Serious!...JESUS Said Himself The reason He Was Born In (John 18:37), Jesus also makes it very clear in (John 8: 45-46) that no one wanted to believe Him as He told them the Truth! just as it is today!.....And in (Mark 8: 12) Jesus points out that No Sign would be given tho them that Believe not!.......The Miracles, Special Blessings, Supernatural Things Of GOD Are ONLY Given To Those Who BELIEVE!...Not Those who don't!.....(Eph. 3: 20), Matt. 19:26), (Heb. 11:6)........this was a major problem with the pharasees, sadduccees, & scribes, they found it hard within their self to BELIEVE IN THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD!....just like today!....Believers are Trained in the WORD Of GOD To Know The Truth, Unlike Opinions, Views, and Man-made Ideas!........Do you know the Truth!...."Except a man be Born Again, he will not see (understand spiritually) the Kingdom of GOD Or Heaven"....(John chapter 3), (John 14: 6), (Acts 4: 12)........

TRUTH is relative. What is true for one may not be true for another. For example, I agree with you that the Bible is truth, but with a catch. I believe that the Bible is truth in MOST cases. However, I also know that Jesus did not write the Bible himself. "Inspired" prophets of the first century, and we are all infallible. Including those who wrote the Bible. Therefore, I cannot believe that every word in the Bible is absolute truth. I am also an educated Christian with a minor in Religion from University. My opinion is my opinion......

FAQ: Why aren't more miracles done to convert people to Christianity?
"When only a miracle leads a person to acknowledgment of God and to adoration and piety, he acts from the natural and not the spiritual man. For a miracle infuses belief by an external and not an internal way, thus from the world and not from heaven. The Lord enters man by an internal way, by the Word and by doctrine and preaching from it. As miracles close this way, no miracles are done today" (Divine Providence n. 131).
Man is not brought by external means to think and will, thus to love and believe what pertains to religion, but the man brings himself and compels himself to do so. Self-compulsion is not contrary to rationality and freedom. (Divine Providence n. 129).
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
-- Rev. 3:20 KJV
Miracles do not induce faith. "That miracles are of this nature can be clearly established from those performed in the presence of the people of Judah and Israel. Although they beheld many miracles in the land of Egypt and later at the Red Sea and others in the Wilderness and particularly on Mt. Sinai when the Law was promulgated, nevertheless, in a month's time while Moses tarried on that mountain, they made themselves a golden calf and hailed it as Jehovah who had led them out of the land of Egypt (Ex 32:4-6). Again, it is plain from the miracles done later in the land of Canaan; nevertheless the people fell away time and again from the prescribed worship. It is equally plain from the miracles which the Lord did before their eyes when He was in the world; yet they crucified Him. (Divine Providence n. 132).

There are many "truths" in the Bible, especially in its original state (67% has been removed, the rest horribly editted). However, the confusions lie in the fact that this piece of literature, as others of its kind (i.e. the Qu'ran, the Scrolls, etc.) are two-fold...they are stories to represent the history of the times, as well as insights to better humanity, but most wholly (or holy) they are sparks to insite thought...of mind & spirit. Herein is where the "truths" are shown to each individual as they see them, for use as an Earth-life tool, or spiritual growth.

I was filled with the Spirit of Truth with the laying on of hands of my Pastor. I have wisdom above my teachers.
1 John 2:27. And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.
St. John wrote this. He was filled with the Holy Spirit of Truth at Pentecost and also witnessed Jesus crucifixion & believed in all that Jesus Christ was and is. He was also to take care of Jesus' Mother Mary as His own mother. So that makes St. John a brother of Christ.
The Holy Spirit of Truth directs me to toss anything apocraphil. He confirms the bible as the Word of God.
Divine: Thanks for your answer. I really enjoyed reading it, because it is true.
MJ: You have written a lot of truth yourself. Love rejoices in the truth.

The truth is that religion is a lie. There are truths in the bible that most cannot accept. Like the salvation of the world. We are all one. Belief and good behavior are of no consequence to favor in the Lord. Sin is nullified.

There is a verse in the bible that says....only those with the spirit of God can discern the things of God. Interestingly enough, someone gave me a Book of Mormon to read once. I only read about two paragraphs and put it down. I did not believe it was God's word.
Same thing happened when I read some of the Koran.
I believe the bible to be God's word alone, of all these things. So yes, when you have the spirit of God (by placing your faith in His son)...you can then discern the "things" of God. You can also discern what is NOT of Him.
